On September 25, staff gathered outside William Byrd High School to cut the ribbon to officially mark the completion of a three year project to expand and renovate William Byrd High School.

With nearly a hundred people in attendance, a group of more than two dozen people broke ground on Sept. 9, 2024, to mark the start of a project to construct an all-new Roanoke County Career and Technology Center (RCCTC), which will last just over two years and will replace the existing Burton Center for Arts & Technology, located in Salem.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.  We want to ensure our students have a safe, welcoming environment to learn and succeed, and we have implemented many safety initiatives over the years to help improve school safety.
