RCPS art students earn top honors at regional Scholastic Art Competition

Roanoke County Public Schools students have made an extraordinary showing at this year's Scholastic Art Competition, capturing two of the region's five prestigious American Visions nominations and taking home a total of 68 awards. The competition, currently being celebrated at the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley, showcases the remarkable artistic talent from students across 23 counties and independent towns and cities.

Earning top honors at the competition are the following students:

  • Kendall Lecas (12), BCAT CVA, American Visions Nominee
  • Aliyah Yammy Williams (12), BCAT CVA, American Visions Nominee
  • Mahima Sethumadhavan (8), Cave Spring Middle, Outstanding Middle School Entry
